Washington Township Museum of Local History

The Washington Township Museum of Local History collection contains texts and audiovisual material (moving images and audio) from the 1850s to 2000s. A majority of the collection consists of Washingtonian yearbooks and recorded oral interviews with residents of the Washington Township area. Subjects include the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and local history of Fremont, California.

Description : The Irvington Branch of the Alameda County Library is housed in this building at 328 Broadway, which was formerly the home of the town's first station agent, William H. Mack, who also served as the second postmaster. The house was built in 1861, the first two-story home in Irvington. The south portion is now occupied by Mack's granddaughter, Mrs. Anna Van Buskirk.
